At St. Brendan’s School our fourth grade class works diligently on the foundations of mathematics, language arts, and reading comprehension. We also spend valuable time on Science and work hands-on participating in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in such areas as pollination and the earth’s natural resources. In Social Studies, we learn about our beautiful state of New Jersey by exploring famous New Jerseyans and their valuable contribution to our state. Additionally, students explore democratic citizenship and gain a historical understanding of democracy and its’ birth in our state and our nation. Religion is always an important part of our day. Our students learn about God’s presence in our lives and the importance of service. At St. Brendan’s we teach that there is an importance to serve the needs of the local and larger world communities. As members of the Archdiocese of Paterson, it is our responsibility to teach our students to be aware of the needs of our sisters and brothers in communities both near and far, and through our service we grow spiritually in our service to others.
